Srinagar, Aug 1: Joint meeting of major travel trade associations convened at Hotel Asian Park in Srinagar to discuss the proposed Draft Jammu & Kashmir Tourist Trade Rules, 2024. The gathering, organized by the Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK), brought together leaders from various tourism bodies to finalize a white paper containing suggestions, objections, and recommendations regarding the proposed rules.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures in the region’s tourism industry, including Mohammad Ibrahim Siah, President of TASK; Noor Mohammad Shangloo, Chairman of J&K Tourism Alliance; Showkat Ahmad Pakhtoon, Chairman of J&K Pilgrim & Leisure Tour Operators Federation; and representatives from other key associations such as the Association of Kashmir Tour Operators, Indian Association of Tour Operators (J&K Chapter), and Travel Agents Federation of India (J&K Chapter).
During the session, the chairman documented all suggestions, objections, and recommendations presented by the association heads. These inputs will form the basis of the white paper, which is set to be submitted to the Tourism Department of the Jammu & Kashmir Government.
This collaborative effort underscores the tourism industry’s active involvement in shaping policies that will impact their sector. The outcome of this meeting and the subsequent submission to the J&K Government are expected to play a significant role in refining the proposed tourist trade rules for the region, potentially influencing the future of tourism in Jammu & Kashmir.
