Srinagar, Jan 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) has initiated an inquiry into allegations of discrepancies in the recently declared results of the JKP Constable Telecommunication examination.

In a statement to a local daily, Chairperson of JKSSB, Indu Kanwal Chib, confirmed that the Board has tasked its members with a thorough investigation into the claims. “We have asked them to look into the matter very intricately and have provided a specific timeframe for the inquiry,” Chib stated. “Let us see what comes out of it.”

Concerns were raised by aspirants of the JKP Constable Telecommunication and Photography exams, who alleged irregularities and questioned the transparency of the selection process conducted by the JKSSB. They pointed out that some candidates who excelled in the recent exams had previously performed poorly in earlier JKP (Executive/Armed/SDRF) papers, raising suspicions about the integrity of the scoring system.

In response to the allegations, PDP leader Iltija Mufti criticized the JKSSB, claiming that it is jeopardizing the future of J&K’s youth. “Massive discrepancies in the JKP Telecommunications exam wherein toppers fared poorly in the previously held constable exams. The government that rose to power by making lofty promises has conveniently washed its hands of any accountability,” she expressed on her X handle.

The National Conference spokesman, Imran Nabi Dar, countered Mufti’s claims, accusing her of creating unnecessary controversies. “Before criticizing the government, her party should understand the context. Rather than creating unnecessary controversies, it would have been better if she had addressed this matter to the LG before making half-baked statements to the media,” he stated, adding that the PDP was the “mother of all scams” born during their tenure with the BJP.

The inquiry aims to address the serious concerns raised by the aspirants and restore confidence in the recruitment process for the JKP.
