Srinagar, Dec 2: In an executive meeting that laid bare the mounting challenges facing one of the city’s premier commercial districts, the Regal Chowk Traders Association (RCTA) today unveiled a laundry list of critical issues threatening the market’s economic vitality.
Under the leadership of President Farhan Kitab, the association pulled no punches in highlighting the systemic problems plaguing the city center’s commercial ecosystem.
Network Nightmares Derail Digital Economy
The most pressing concern emerged around digital payment disruptions. With Jio network connectivity rendering electronic transactions virtually impossible, traders are witnessing a potential economic catastrophe. “Our entire digital transaction infrastructure is collapsing,” said one visibly frustrated trader, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Transportation Troubles Choke Market Potential
Adding insult to injury, the chronic lack of public transportation is strangling market accessibility. Reduced visitor numbers are translating directly into plummeting sales, with traders warning of potential long-term economic consequences if immediate action isn’t taken.
Infrastructure on the Brink
The meeting’s spotlight also burned brightly on two critical infrastructure failures:A drainage system so consistently blocked it threatens public health and market aesthetics
Parking facilities so inadequate that customer convenience has become a distant memory
Industry Solidarity Emerges
In a rare moment of collective strength, the RCTA lauded the Joint Traders Association (JTA) for its consistent advocacy, signaling a united front against these challenges.
