Srinagar, Apr 22: The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir (CCIK) has strongly condemned the recent killings of innocent tourists in Pahalgam, describing the act as both deplorable and deeply shameful for humanity.
In an official statement, Mr. Tariq Rashid Ghani, President of CCIK, expressed profound sorrow and outrage over the tragedy. “The killing of innocent tourists in Pahalgam is not only condemnable but also a deplorable act which has put the whole of humanity to shame. Kashmiris have always stood against this barbarousness and will continue to do so,” he said.
Mr. Ghani emphasized that such acts of violence undermine the peace and harmony that the people of Kashmir have long strived to maintain. He urged all stakeholders, including security agencies, community leaders, and citizens, to work collectively to prevent such incidents and protect the safety of tourists who contribute significantly to the region’s economy.
“Kashmir’s tourism sector is a vital lifeline for many families and a symbol of our rich culture and natural beauty. We strongly believe in the sanctity of human life and condemn any attempt to disrupt peace and harmony in our Valley,” Mr. Ghani added.
The CCIK calls upon the authorities to conduct a thorough and swift investigation into the incident to bring the perpetrators to justice and reassure tourists that their safety is paramount in Kashmir.
