Srinagar, Feb 27: Truecaller, the leading global platform for verifying contacts and blocking unwanted communications, has announced the launch of AI-powered call recording in India. The new feature is available for both iOS and Android platforms.

The call recording feature allows users to record incoming and outgoing calls directly within the Truecaller app. This provides a convenient way to capture and manage important conversations.

By leveraging cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology, Truecaller enables users to fully focus on live conversations without worrying about taking detailed notes. The integration of AI powers automated transcription of the entire call and generates a summary.

On iPhones, all recordings are stored locally on the device, giving users complete control. Users also have the option to backup recordings to iCloud for added security.

On Android, the Truecaller dialer has a dedicated recording button to start/stop recording with one tap. For other dialers, a floating button is available. Once a call ends, users get notified when the recording and transcription are ready. Recorded calls can be listened to, renamed, deleted or shared easily.

Speaking at the launch, Rishit Jhunjhunwala, MD and Chief Product Officer, Truecaller said: “We are thrilled to announce our AI-enabled call recording, which has been a highly requested feature. It gives greater control and flexibility in managing conversations, valuable for personal and professional use.”

Truecaller’s call recording is part of the Premium plan, starting at INR 75/month or INR 529/year. While rolled out across iOS and Android, it currently supports English and Hindi transcriptions. More markets and languages will follow.

The feature was previously launched in the US. India marks the latest market for Truecaller’s continued innovation in communication solutions.
