Srinagar, Nov 7: The Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast predicting light rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir from the 8th to the 10th of November.

An official from the Meteorological Department informed the news agency Kashmir Scroll that the current weather is mainly clear to partly cloudy, with dry conditions expected on the 6th and 7th of November.

However, the weather is expected to change on the 8th of November when it will become fairly to generally cloudy with light rain over the plains and light snow over a few higher reaches.

On the 9th of November, the forecast indicates generally cloudy conditions with light rain over the plains and light snow over higher reaches, including areas like Razdan Pass, Sadhna Pass, Sinthan Pass, Zojila, and Mughal Road.

The 10th of November is expected to be fairly to generally cloudy with light rain and snow at isolated places in the morning, followed by an improvement in conditions. From the 11th to the 15th of November, the weather is anticipated to remain mainly dry, with a dip in maximum temperatures.

The Meteorological Department has also issued an advisory, urging farmers to suspend farm operations during this period, particularly on the 9th of November. Travelers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, as there is a possibility of temporary disruption of surface transportation over higher reaches due to slippery conditions during this period.

Residents and visitors in Jammu and Kashmir are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of expected precipitation and snowfall.
