He further stated that the journal seeks to keep silkworm rearers, farmers, silk reeling and weaving unit holders, educated youth, women and tribal communities well informed about available schemes, subsidies, training programmes, infrastructure facilities and technical support, enabling them to effectively leverage opportunities in the sericulture value chain.
On the occasion, the Director also briefed the Divisional Commissioner about various ongoing initiatives of the Department, highlighting the special focus on capacity building through skill upgradation programmes for field functionaries, exposure visits for silkworm rearers and farmers, and awareness camps targeting educated youth, women and tribal communities across Jammu and Kashmir.
