Srinagar, March 1:
The Minister for Education, Sakina Itoo, on Sunday announced that all schools and colleges across Kashmir will remain closed for the next two days.
The decision, the minister said, has been taken in view of the prevailing situation in the Valley.
“We have decided to keep the schools and colleges closed for two days,” Itoo told Greater Kashmir.
Notably, elementary-level schools were scheduled to reopen on March 2, 2026, after over a two-month-long winter vacation. The announcement effectively extends the closure, and further updates will be issued depending on the situation, officials said.
