Srinagar: In a dramatic turn of events at the ongoing protest outside the chief minister’s official residence, National Conference MP Aga Ruhullah announced that he received an intimation from the CM’s office for a meeting with a student delegation.
Addressing the media at the protest site, Ruhullah specified that a diverse group of students, including one each from central, south, and north Kashmir, one from Jammu, and a female student, would represent the protesters in discussions with the chief minister.
Ruhullah emphasized their commitment, stating, “We will not move from here until the students return from their meeting with the chief minister.” He expects the delegation to convey their demands and engage in a thorough discussion regarding the contentious reservation policy.
PDP legislator Waheed ur Rehman Parra, also present at the protest, demanded a swift and time-bound revocation of the policy, highlighting the plight of merit holders who should not have to suffer.
