Srinagar: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) Kashmir Chapter organised a strategic networking session in Srinagar to build momentum and encourage participation in the upcoming Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicle Exposition (REV-Expo) 2026, scheduled to be held in Chandigarh from January 9 to 11, 2026.
The session acted as a preparatory platform for stakeholders from Jammu and Kashmir’s renewable energy ecosystem, bringing together solar technology providers, officials from the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), along with solar entrepreneurs from across the Union Territory.
The programme began with a welcome address by Himayu Wani, Co-Chair, PHDCCI Kashmir. The discussions featured inputs from Shemaila Aslam, Project Head, REC; Raheel from KPDCL; Mayank from Eventage; Haroon Kar, Chief Manager, HPCL; Owais from JAKEDA; Mohd Rafiq from SIDBI; Shahid Khan from PHDCCI; Madeena Mir, Director, CNS Infotel; Qaiser Mir, Director, Valley Orion Solar; Bilal Kawoosa, General Convenor, PHDCCI Kashmir; and Ashiq Bhat from the Orion Group. Representatives from technology and skill providers, including Usha and Voltra, also shared their perspectives. A key moment of the event was the unveiling of the Annual Calendar 2026 by CNS Infotel, which drew appreciation from industry participants. The session was moderated by Iqbal Fayaz Jan, Deputy Director, PHDCCI.
The networking dialogue focused on accelerating Jammu and Kashmir’s transition towards a sustainable energy future. Participants discussed the need for supportive policy measures to spur growth in the renewable sector and highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of shifting to electric mobility and solar energy. The transition, speakers noted, is essential not only for protecting the region’s fragile ecology but also for ensuring affordable and reliable energy.
Addressing the gathering, the Co-Chair of PHDCCI Kashmir said the session was an important step in aligning local entrepreneurship with national sustainability goals. He said the REV-Expo in Chandigarh would provide a significant opportunity for local solar providers and entrepreneurs to explore innovations, build partnerships and learn from best practices at the national and global levels.
Officials from KPDCL and JAKEDA outlined existing schemes and the regulatory framework, while entrepreneurs shared on-ground experiences, pointing to both opportunities and challenges. The discussions underlined the need for close collaboration between government agencies, industry players and innovators to realise the full potential of renewable energy in the region.
The session concluded with participants expressing commitment to actively engage in REV-Expo 2026, viewing it as a key platform to promote investment, technology exchange and sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
