Srinagar: Soon after completing her secondary education, Rubeena Akhter, 28, of Nihalpora in the Baramulla district, developed a passion for cooking.
She had always desired to work in this profession, but she was unable to do so due to a lack of resources and opportunities.

Years after completing her master’s degree in English, she is pursuing her passion by opening “Neimat,” a restaurant where she offers locals both local and foreign cuisine.
“I’ve always had a passion for cooking, and I frequently spend my free time experimenting with both traditional and international cuisine. Despite the fact that my family adores my cooking, this professional choice was not at all supported. My husband inspired me to establish my own kitchen after we were married, she said.
Rubeena, a mother of two, used YouTube and social media to learn how to cook exotic foods.
“I learned how to make a variety of cuisines while completing my MA course by watching videos on YouTube and Facebook. It required time, but fortunately I learned how to make a variety of foods,” she said.
She is receiving a lot of praises from foodies all over north Kashmir for her cuisines, which range from traditional Harrisa to tandoori chicken and dozens of sweets.
“My Harrisa was well received and loved by the public. I began delivering it to my clients’ doorsteps. I was inspired to create a variety of other foods, and at the moment I provide my customers with dozens of different cuisines, she added.
Her food was distinctive for its taste and purity.
“People responded well to me because of my purity. I advise against using too many spices. My consumer base is growing every day because of the taste, she remarked.
She claimed that providing her cuisine to all foodies in north Kashmir was the primary reason she opened her kitchen. “There was not a single restaurant in the area that could bring food to customers’ doorsteps. I therefore took this step, and the concept caught on. People won’t have to stand in line or leave their homes anymore to enjoy delectable cuisine, according to Rubeena.
