Srinagar, Nov 15: Mushtaq Chaya, Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Hoteliers Club (JKHC), on Friday expressed profound sorrow over the devastating accidental explosion at Nowgam Police Station that claimed at least nine lives and left several others injured during the handling of seized explosives.
“We mourn the loss of dedicated police, forensic and civil personnel,” Chaya said, extending his deepest condolences to the families and colleagues of those who lost their lives. “Our hearts go out to the entire Kashmir community in this moment of immense grief.”
Calling the incident a tragic reminder of the risks faced by frontline personnel, Chaya urged authorities to order a thorough and transparent investigation to ascertain how the explosion occurred. He stressed that only proper accountability and strengthened safety protocols can prevent such tragedies in the future.
He also appealed to the administration to extend full support to the bereaved families and ensure the best possible medical assistance to all those injured. JKHC, he added, is praying for the speedy recovery of the injured and stands in solidarity with the affected families during this difficult time.
