Srinagar, Nov 30 (NVI): A massive fire broke out late last night in the Danawari area of Chattabal in Srinagar engulfing three residential houses, leaving the residents in shock and despair.

The incident caused significant damage to three houses, although, all inmates of the affected houses were safe

The properties affected by the fire belong to Abdul Rashid Bhat (S/O Gh Ahmad Bhat), Nazir Ahmed Khan and Abdul Rehman Shah (S/O Gh Qadir Shah).

Soon after the incident, fire and emergency services responded promptly. Fire tenders, local police and community members worked tirelessly to bring the blaze under control, preventing its spread to nearby structures. Their combined efforts helped avert a big tragedy as the area is highly congested.

Preliminary investigations suggest the cause of fire was an electric short circuit. Local authorities are conducting further inquiries to confirm the cause and ensure no risks remain in the affected area.

The affected families have suffered significant material losses at a time when severe cold conditions have tightened its grip over Kashmir.

While no injuries or fatalities occurred, the incident has left the residents grappling with emotional and financial distress.

The incident highlights the critical need for enhanced fire safety awareness and preparedness, especially in densely populated residential areas.(New Vibes of India)
