Srinagar, Dec 18:The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) has urgently appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir Government to significantly augment healthcare facilities in response to the harsh winter conditions that are driving a surge in respiratory infections, chest ailments, and heart attack cases.
In a statement released today, KTA President Aijaz Shahdhar highlighted the region’s critical healthcare challenges. “Hospitals and healthcare facilities across Kashmir are currently overwhelmed with patients, primarily due to the severe cold wave triggering numerous health complications,” Shahdhar said.
Medical professionals have noted a concerning uptrend in heart attack cases during the winter months, further straining the healthcare system. After conducting comprehensive visits to various healthcare institutions, the KTA has identified an urgent need to enhance medical infrastructure and capacity.
“Our tertiary care hospitals are experiencing high patient volumes, resulting in extended waiting times,” Shahdhar emphasized. “It is imperative that the government take immediate measures to upgrade infrastructural and operational facilities to address this health emergency effectively.”
KTA appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to personally intervene and issue appropriate directions to address the healthcare challenges.
