Srinagar, Nov 21: The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) strongly supported the ongoing traffic enforcement actions targeting minors driving vehicles without proper licenses today, emphasizing the critical need for road safety and responsible citizenship.
In a statement, Aijaz Shahdhar, President, Kashmir Trade Alliance, expressed deep concern over the increasing incidents of underage driving. “It is deeply unfortunate that minors are being allowed to operate vehicles, leading to a significant rise in accident rates,” Shahdhar said.
Highlighting a recent tragic incident, Shahdhar referenced the Tengapora accident, which claimed the lives of two minors. “This heart-wrenching incident serves as an urgent eye-opener for our entire society,” he stated.
Shahdhar appreciated the Traffic Police for its proactive approach led by SSP Traffic City, Muzaffar Shah who has hit the right chord by taking action against reckless driving which is the panacea of rising road accidents in Kashmir.
The KTA President particularly called upon the business community to take a proactive role in addressing this critical issue. He emphasized the importance of parents and business owners preventing their minor children from accessing vehicles, creating awareness about the severe risks of underage driving, and supporting local law enforcement efforts to ensure road safety.
Shahdhar said that KTA supports the police crackdown on minors driving without licenses and views it as a necessary step towards protecting young lives and ensuring community safety.
