Srinagar: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCC&I) has strongly condemned the assassination attempt on Dr. Farooq Abdullah, President of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference and former Chief Minister of J&K, during a private function in Jammu.
KCCI described the firing incident as a cowardly act and expressed deep concern over the attack, which took place during a function attended by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani.
The Chamber said the incident demands a thorough probe and called for a detailed investigation into the circumstances under which an assailant carrying a loaded weapon managed to reach the venue and open fire.
KCC&I stated that such acts of violence are unacceptable and undermine the democratic and peaceful environment of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chamber also expressed solidarity with Dr. Farooq Abdullah and wished him safety and good health.
KCC&I reiterated that peace and stability are vital for economic growth and the overall well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
