Srinagar, Nov 6: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) has strongly refuted social media posts that falsely claim its involvement in criticizing the management of Jammu & Kashmir Bank.
KCCI in a statement condemned the unethical use of its name by certain individuals to malign the bank’s top management through anonymous social media accounts. The Chamber emphasized that it has always been transparent in issuing public statements regarding business and public interest matters.
The Chamber specifically dismissed as “absolutely baseless” a social media post claiming that KCCI had complained against the MD/CEO of J&K Bank to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during a recent meeting at Civil Secretariat.
KCCI recently appreciated J&K Bank’s growth and performance over the past few years and requested a Special OTS (One Time Settlement) Scheme without capping and tenure restrictions, as per MSME norms. The Chamber advocated sharing the bank’s improved profitability with account holders affected by various crises including the 2014 floods, 2016 turmoil, COVID-19 pandemic, and events of 2019.
The Chamber maintains its position requesting the bank to stop publishing names of NPAs, cease serving possession notices, and halt e-auctioning of mortgaged properties.
KCCI concluded by strongly condemning social media posts that associate its name with unfounded allegations against the bank’s management.
