Srinagar, Jan 7: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry ( KCCI) called upon the new MD/ CEO, Jammu & Kashmir Bank Mr Amitava Chatterjee at J&K Bank corporate headquarters in Srinagar.

KCCI team comprising of Senior Vice President Ashaq Hussain Shangloo, Secretary General Faiz Bakshi, and Past President Mushtaq Ahmad Wani congratulated and warmly welcomed him on his new assignment. The KCCI offered him support to the Bank’s role in the development, and economic growth of Jammu & Kashmir. The Chamber apprised him of the outstanding contribution the Bank had played in the growth story of trade, commerce, Industry, services and other allied sectors as was reflected by more than 90 % Banking share enjoyed by 840’+ branches across Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh. The KCCI team drew the attention of Mr Chatterjee to the sufferings the businesses had faced during the 2014 devastating floods and the events of 2008,2010,2016, Covid-2019 and other factors beyond their control. However, both the Bank and Customers showed resilience as is reflected in the progress shown by the Bank from year to year. The SGDP also had shown remarkable growth. KCCI discussed the recently announced OTS Scheme of the JK Bank which needed to be applied in a way that would benefit both the Bank and a large number of borrowers.

The JKB MD/CEO positively responded to the suggestions made by KCCI and assured that he will seriously consider them and take necessary measures for accelerated growth of the businesses, Bank and SDGP.

The KCCI team thanked him for his positive attitude and assured him that KCCI will closely work with him for the promotion and growth of businesses.
