Srinagar, Sept 21: The Rotary Club of Kashmir, under its Hum 4 Humanity Relief Mission launched by Rotary District 3070, has delivered critical aid to flood-hit families across the Valley.
A senior Rotary team led by District Governor Rtn. Rohit Oberoi (Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, J&K & Ladakh) distributed daily necessity kits and assessed damage in some of the worst-affected areas.
“In times of such adversity, Rotary’s global network stands ready to help,” said Governor Oberoi. “From local disasters to international humanitarian projects, our 1.4 million members are united by the principle of Service Above Self & Unite for Good. Our presence here is a testament to our commitment to the people of Kashmir.”
The relief drive included Assistant Governor Sameer Wazir, Rotary Club of Kashmir President Jagjit Singh, Secretary Dr. Touseef Ahmed, Treasurer Adil Shah, and members Rtn. Gowhar Bhat, Rtn. Abrar Khan, and Rtn. Jatinder Singh Kamboj.
Dr. Touseef Ahmed reinforced Rotary’s core ethos: “Helping others is our main motto. This is a crucial first step, and we are mobilizing resources for sustained assistance.”
Relief kits containing food staples, clean water, solar lights, clothing, and other household essentials were distributed among families displaced by the floods. Rotary leaders assured continued engagement in both immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation efforts.
