Srinagar, May 28: J&K government on Saturday amended the Jammu and Kashmir Registration of Contractor Rule 1991. As per the amendment, the fees for renewal of card of special class contractor will be Rs 12,000.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 read with section 9 of the Jammu and Kashmir Registration of Contractors Act, 1956, the Government hereby makes the following amendment in the Jammu and Kashmir Registration of Contractor Rules, 1991; namely,

In rule 9, after sub-rule(1), the following proviso shall be added that is provided that 68 Hot Mix Plant holders registered as ‘A” class contractors to hold such contractors license registered upto 31.03.2022 shall be deemed to have been issued under these rules as one time exception.” Reads the order.

(“In rule 10, sub rule (1), for the words “shall be renewable after every financial year” the words “shall be renewable after every three financial years” shall be substituted and In rule 10, in clause ii(a) of sub-rule(1), for the words “Character Certificate” the words “written model affidavit, as may be prescribed, to be accepted provisionally till character certificate is issued or character certificate” shall be substituted.” It adds.

(“In rule 10, sub-rule(2) shall be substituted as application for renewal of registration shall be made to the head of the Department in Form III and shall be accompanied by the fees of Special Class Rs 12,000/, Class A 7500, class B Rs 3750/, Class C Rs 1950 and Class D Rs 750/.” It adds.

“Provided that the Hot Mix Plants which have been exempted under proviso to sub-rule (1) of rule 9 shall have to fulfil all the codal formalities within a period of six months from the date of issuance of this notification.” It adds further.

“In rule 10, after sub-rule (2) the following shall be added as sub rule(2a) that is the time period for renewal of contractor licence shall be extended upto a period of 31.05.2022 for financial year 2022-2023 in online mode only.” it adds further.

“Provided that all Licenses shall henceforth through online mode only.” the amendment order states further.
