Srinagar Nov 8: Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) suffered its first defeat of the 2023-2024 I League season, losing 3-1 to Churchill Brothers FC on Wednesday at TRC Ground in Srinagar.
Since the beginning of the match both the teams looked aggressive. However in the first half Churchill Brothers FC was leading 1-0 as Emiliano Callegari Torre shot was deflected into the RKFC’s net by own player Carlos Lomba.
In the second half Churchill Brothers FC scored two more goals and was leading 3-0. However, RKFC managed to score a goal.
Despite a late push by RKFC, Churchill Brothers FC maintained their lead and won the game 3-1 and secured three points
Two players were also shown red cards in the high voltage game including RKFC’s Gnohere Krizo in the 71th minute and then Churchill Brothers FC goalkeeper Subhasish Roy Chowdhary in the 92th minute during the extra time of the game.
This was the 3rd game of the RKFC in the I League 2023-2024. Earlier, the team defeated Rajasthan United Football Club and then Tiddim Road Athletic Union FC (TRAU FC). The RKFC is scheduled to play its first away game on November 11 at Sri Bhaini Sahib.
