Srinagar, Nov 30: Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) has welcomed the appointment of Atal Dulloo as the new Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir and has hoped that with his capabilities and personal integrity he will initiate steps to further administrative deliverance.
In a statement, FCIK has thanked the Union Home Minister and the Lieutenant Governor for taking a wise decision to appoint Mr. Dulloo at a stage when Jammu and Kashmir was grappling with slew of problems including lost business opportunities, rising unemployment andlack of social and administrative cohesion.
“The existing industry was at the verge of extinction for various reasons including decline in due share from public expenditure, delayed payments, rising NPAs and the like”reads the statement. “The government-industry interface which could have resolved many of their issues was unfortunately abandoned with and the genuine representation removed from decision-making boards and committees” added the statement.
President FCIK ShahidKamili hoped that with Mr. AtalDulloocoming in at the top administrative position, industry will usher in a new era of development where both existing as well as prospective enterprises are expected to flourish with required support and cooperation from UT as well as Union governments. He said that with his competence and decision-making ability, Mr. Dulloo had full understanding of issues that confronted industrial growth and promotion. Kamili further said that industry was looking forward to get redressal for some their grave issues like reframing of a composite and comprehensive industrial policy with flow of incentives to both prospective and existing enterprises, extension of marketing support and restructuring of NPA accounts besides intervening in issuance of a uniform and non-discriminatory One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) from banks particularly the J&K Bank.
