Srinagar, Sep 20: The Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) has expressed deepest condolences on the passing of Mohammad Shafi Pandit, a distinguished administrator, social activist, and reformer who breathed his last on Thursday. A large number of FCIK members including President Shahid Kamili, Shakeel Qalander, Mohammad Ashraf Mir and others participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased.
FCIK has termed the departure of Mohammad Shafi Pandit as a great loss to the society in general and industrial fraternity in particular.
While paying tributes to the deceased, the members of FCIK termed his contributions to the industrial development and governance of J&K region as remarkable and impactful.
They said that Mohammad Shafi Pandit has played a pivotal role in fostering industrial growth in J&K, advocating for policies that encouraged investment and entrepreneurship besides that his vision helped create an environment conducive to the establishment of industries, which not only boosted the local economy but also provided employment opportunities for countless individuals. Besides this his efforts in facilitating infrastructure development and supporting small and medium enterprises have left a lasting legacy that will benefit future generations.
Apart from his bureaucratic achievements, his dedication to public service, mentorship, and social causes has influenced countless lives. His commitment to inspiring youth to pursue careers in civil services reflects his belief in the power of education and public service. His legacy as the head of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) and his role in initiating welfare schemes for poor and orphans are testaments to his visionary leadership.
