Srinagar, Jan 4: The Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) has expressed profound sorrow and deep sadness over the passing of Showkat Hussain Ahangar, a distinguished industrialist and the owner of Kashmir Rolling Mills. Showkat Hussain had been battling a dreaded illness and sadly passed away on Saturday. He was also the brother of Mohammad Altaf Ahangar, Secretary Finance of FCIK.
A large number of people from various walks of life, including a significant number of entrepreneurs, attended his funeral prayers in Rawalpora after Magrib prayers on Saturday. His early demise has left an irreplaceable void in the industrial fraternity.
In a joint condolence message, members of the FCIK Advisory Committee—Shahid Kamili, Meraj Qureshi, Shakeel Qalander, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and Mohammed Ashraf Mir besides Ovees Jami have expressed their heartfelt grief, describing the loss of Showkat Hussain as immense loss to the industrial sector. They conveyed their deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace of his soul.
Condolences have also poured in from the presidents of various industrial associations, spanning both the organised and unorganised sectors across the Kashmir Valley. These heartfelt tributes from the business community serve as a testament to the lasting impact of Showkat Hussain Ahangar, whose significant contributions to the region’s industrial landscape will never be forgotten.
