Srinagar, Oct 26: Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) holds an Annual General Meeting at FCIK House, Sanat Nagar.
In a statement, issued by Secretary-General Ovees Qadir Jamie said that the unitholders across Kashmir valley participated in the meeting which includes all Industrial Estates and districts of the Valley.
President FCIK Shahid Kamili addressed the house and informed the members about their achievements in the last two years and the progress of the FCIK on various fronts in the redressal of the industrial issues faced by the unit holders.
He said that it has been tough the last few years after the reorganization of the state and back-to-back pandemics. Further various policies have changed and these have not been in favour of the industry. So we have been committed and put our efforts into the redressal of these issues.
According to the statement, the main focus of the AGM was the amendments made to the constitution and its adoption. The FCIK has earlier framed the Constitution Review Committee (CRC) to draft the constitution for the smooth running of FCIK and to eliminate the ambiguities. The Draft constitution was presented in the AGM before the General body and it has been debated in the meeting after Speaker through it open for debate.
“The members presented their views and suggestions and asked the CRC for clarification on some of the vital points mentioned in the constitution. After a debate on the same CRC member, Syed Shakeel Qalandar addressed the house and provided clarification of the draft proposal. The Speaker Manzoor Qadri put the newly amended constitution to vote before the house and the same has been approved in favour by the house.”
The FCIK in AGM also framed the nine members Election Commission to hold the election as per the approved new constitution.
