Budgam, September 16: In a devastating turn of events, a 62-year-old man died on Wednesday, four days after his son and three-year-old grandson were killed in a road accident in Soibugh area of Budgam.
The elderly man, identified as Ghulam Hassan Mir of Ghoom Ahmadpora, Magam, collapsed at a graveyard in the afternoon while his family was attending the funeral rites of his son and grandson, relatives and neighbours said.
They said Mir was immediately shifted to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Mir’s son, Naseer Ahmad Mir, 29, and his three-year-old grandson, Hadi Ali, were killed in a road accident in the Soibugh area on September 12.
Naseer’s wife, Dilshada Akhter, 26, was critically injured in the accident and was shifted to a hospital for treatment.
The latest death has deepened the tragedy for the family, which has now lost three members within four days.
The circumstances surrounding Mir’s sudden collapse and death were not immediately known. Relatives and neighbours said the elderly man collapsed while the family was at the graveyard for the funeral rites.
