Mumbai: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not have prostate cancer, his office clarified on Tuesday, releasing a detailed medical report to dispel circulating rumours.
The comprehensive document, published after years without a full medical disclosure, outlines the procedures and diagnostic tests the Prime Minister has recently undergone. According to the report, Netanyahu is currently being treated for a urinary tract infection following prostate surgery but is otherwise in stable health.
The report is signed by his personal physician Dr. Tzvi Herman Berkowitz, urologist Prof. Alon Pikarsky of Hadassah Medical Center, and Prof. Ehud Grossman, an internal medicine and hypertension specialist. It affirms that the Israeli leader’s blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure levels are within normal ranges. Comprehensive laboratory tests — including blood counts, liver and kidney function, and electrolyte levels — were also found to be normal.
Netanyahu remains under regular cardiac supervision. According to Prof. Roy Beinart, head of the Arrhythmia Institute at Sheba Medical Center, there have been no signs of arrhythmia or other cardiac complications since his pacemaker was implanted in July 2023. Doctors confirmed that he is not dependent on the device and faces no cardiac restrictions, including on physical activity.
The report also details that Netanyahu underwent surgery in April 2024 to repair a right inguinal hernia. A pre-surgical CT scan had revealed an enlarged prostate, small bladder stones and a bladder obstruction. In December 2025, he underwent laser-assisted prostate removal. Pathology results confirmed the tissue was benign and non-cancerous.
Doctors further noted that Netanyahu undergoes routine colonoscopy screenings as per standard guidelines. His most recent colonoscopy returned normal findings.
While he continues antibiotic treatment for the urinary tract infection, the report concludes that the Prime Minister is in good overall health and fully capable of carrying out his duties.
