Srinagar: “The Good News” short film, which has garnered praises worldwide is now available on Disney Hot Star.
The 10-minute-long film is written and directed by Kashmiri filmmaker Danizh Renzu. The film explores friendship and identity in the strife-torn valley of Kashmir.
While talking with The Biz Reporter, Danish said that the film will be now live on Hotstar . “Now everyone can watch this movie and it will be available on Hotstar,” he said.
The 10-minute story has Salonie Patel and Gauri Batra in the lead roles as friends, and it was earlier premiered in full at London’s Tongues on Fire UK Asian Film Festival.
Produced by Naveen Kumar Arora and co-produced by Kashmiri lyricist and writer Sunayana Kachroo, The Good News treats the Kashmir subject with empathy and through the lens of a long-standing friendship that stands threatened. The film , which was released on December 3, is already receiving applause from the film fraternity.
Prior to it, Danish’s feature-length works such as The Illegal (2019) and Half Widow (2017) too had moved and emotionally connected with the audience.
