Srinagar, Dec 19: The Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) has strongly demanded the establishment of a NEET SS , examination center in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, to address the challenges faced by thousands of aspirants from the region.
Speaking on the issue, the DAK President Dr. Yousuf Tak highlighted the plight of NEET SS candidates from Srinagar and adjoining areas who are compelled to travel over 300 kilometers to appear for the examination. This not only results in undue financial and logistical burdens but also creates significant hurdles due to the region’s unpredictable weather and terrain.
“It is deeply ironic that, on one hand, the government claims that the security situation in Kashmir has improved and boasts of millions of tourists visiting the Valley from length to breadth. Yet, on the other hand, NBE ( National board of examination) gave an excuse that due to security reasons that they are not able to establish a NEET SS examination center at Srinagar said Dr Rubeena bhat ( spokesperson DAK).
Dr Owais ( General secretary of DAK) said due to absence of a NEET SS center in Srinagar forces candidates to undertake arduous journeys to examination centers outside the Valley, often in difficult circumstances.
Dr. Masood (senior excutive member of DAK) said establishing a local center would not only alleviate the hardships faced by thousands of aspirants but also promote inclusivity and fairness in the examination process.
DAK strongly urges the concerned authorities to prioritize this pressing issue and immediately take steps to establish a NEET SS examination center in Srinagar. This measure would be a much-needed relief for the aspirants and a step towards ensuring equal opportunities for students from all regions of the country.
