Extends Full Support to ‘Nasha Mukt J&K’ Campaign

Srinagar, April 11:
The Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir (CCIK) has welcomed the decisive steps announced by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to launch a 100-day campaign aimed at eradicating drug abuse and dismantling networks of drug smugglers and peddlers in Jammu & Kashmir.

CCIK strongly endorsed the Lieutenant Governor’s firm statement that “those destroying the future of our youth will not be spared,” terming it a much-needed and timely intervention to address the growing drug menace in the Union Territory.

President CCIK, Tariq Ghani, said that strict and exemplary measures against drug peddlers are the need of the hour to safeguard society, particularly the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, which is increasingly facing the threat of substance abuse.

He added that the 100-day ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir’ campaign announced by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor has been widely appreciated not only across the Union Territory but also at the national level. “This initiative reflects a strong commitment to protect future generations and restore social well-being,” he said.

The Chamber assured full support to the administration in implementing the campaign and pledged to work shoulder-to-shoulder with authorities across villages and towns to curb the spread of drugs. CCIK emphasized that the business community will actively participate in awareness drives and community-level initiatives.

CCIK also called upon all sections of society to unite in this fight against drug abuse, stating that the menace cannot be tackled by the administration alone. “It requires collective responsibility and active participation from every citizen to eliminate this threat from our society,” the statement added.
