Srinagar, Nov 15: The Chamber of Commerce and Industries Kashmir (CCIK) has expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the tragic accidental explosion at Nowgam Police Station, which claimed the lives of nine persons, including police personnel, revenue officials and civilians.
The Chamber said the incident has caused immense pain across Kashmir and left several families shattered.
Patron CCIK, Mushtaq Ahmad Chaya, while conveying heartfelt condolences, said the tragedy has shaken the entire Kashmir. “Our heart goes to the families who lost their loved ones. We pray for the recovery of the injured and for eternal peace to the deceased. Police officials are always at the line of duty, and the officials including police and revenue staff who lost their lives while performing their responsibilities have our utmost respect.”
” If anyone requires specialised treatment outside Jammu and Kashmir, they must be airlifted without delay to ensure the best possible care. It is also reassuring that the Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji is visiting Kashmir personally, which is a strong gesture of concern and solidarity at this difficult time,” he said.
Chaya further emphasised that more than thirty injured persons must receive the best-quality medical treatment and all necessary support until their complete recovery. He also called for adequate compensation for households whose properties and infrastructure were damaged in the blast so that their losses are addressed promptly and fairly.
President CCIK, Tariq Rashid Ghani, expressed deep grief over the tragedy and said the business community stands united with the affected families. “We are saddened by this unfortunate incident, and the suffering it has caused is immeasurable. The visit of the Hon’ble Home Minister reflects the seriousness with which the incident is being dealt with,” he said.
CCIK prayed for the swift recovery of the injured, extended condolences to the bereaved families and urged the administration to ensure comprehensive relief, medical care and compensation for all those affected by this tragic incident.
