Srinagar, Apr 30: The Meteorological (MET) Centre in Srinagar has issued a weather advisory, warning of fresh intermittent light spells of rain accompanied by thunderstorms across many parts of the Kashmir Division and a few places in the Jammu Division. Additionally, the forecast indicates the possibility of hailstorms at isolated locations from the afternoon or late afternoon till the evening/night.
According to the MET Centre, the intermittent rain and thundershower activity is expected to commence in the afternoon hours and continue until the late evening or night. The Kashmir Division is likely to bear the brunt of this weather system, with many areas anticipated to experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
The Jammu Division is also expected to witness similar weather conditions, although the intensity and coverage may be lesser compared to the Kashmir region.
Of particular concern is the potential for hailstorms at a few places during this period. Hailstorms can cause significant damage to crops, property, and pose a risk to outdoor activities.
Residents and authorities in both divisions are advised to take necessary precautions and remain vigilant during the predicted weather events. Farmers are urged to take appropriate measures to protect their crops from potential hail damage.
Commuters and travelers are cautioned to exercise caution on the roads, as heavy rainfall and hailstorms can lead to reduced visibility and slippery conditions.
