SRINAGAR: In a bid to counter negative perceptions and reinvigorate the tourism sector, a Bollywood film unit is currently stationed in the Valley, shooting three separate films dedicated to highlighting the region’s culture and stories.
The initiative, produced by Gubbara Entertainment and supported by the Azim Premji Foundation, is seen as a timely effort to revive tourism, particularly in the aftermath of the recent deadly attack in Pahalgam.
Focus on Local Stories and Heritage
The projects are being filmed across South Kashmir and other iconic locations.
Mohammad Abdullah Lone, Line Producer at Firdous-e-Kashmir Productions, who is overseeing the schedule, stated that the films are deeply rooted in the region.
“These films depict the stories of Kashmir, its people, and how tourism can be revived, especially after the Pahalgam incident,” Lone told Rising Kashmir. He emphasized that the films explore the lives of local people and the richness of Kashmir’s heritage, noting that the themes are significant for the future of tourism in the region.
