Kreeri, July 13: In a major breakthrough, the Kreeri Police Station in Baramulla has apprehended a gang of three fraudsters who were operating in the area. The suspects were allegedly involved in a scheme that targeted unsuspecting individuals through fake vehicle sales and false promises of government jobs.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Mudasir Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir, from Thindma
- Firdosue Ahmad Mir (alias Sameer Khan), son of Ab Aziz, from Mughalpora Tangmarg, currently residing in Chanpora, Srinagar
- Syed Akther, son of Ab Rasheed, from Sonlipora Tanmarg
According to police reports, the gang’s modus operandi involved deceiving people under the pretext of selling and purchasing vehicles. They also lured victims with false promises of securing government jobs in reputable institutions such as banks and various government departments.
The Kreeri Police Station has registered an FIR (No. 100/24 U/s 318(4) BNS) in connection with the case. All three accused are currently in police custody as the investigation continues. Authorities expect to make additional arrests as the probe unfolds.
This successful operation highlights the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s commitment to protecting citizens from fraudulent activities and ensuring justice for victims of such schemes.
The police urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to job offers or vehicle transactions to the nearest police station.
