Srinagar, January 14: In a thrilling I-League 2024-25 encounter at the TRC Ground Srinagar, Real Kashmir FC, reduced to 10 men within the first minute, displayed remarkable grit to secure a 2-2 draw against Sreenidi Deccan FC on Tuesday.

The game began in dramatic fashion when Real Kashmir’s Cameroonian defender Aminou Bouba was shown a red card for a foul in the penalty area in the very first minute. Sreenidi Deccan capitalized swiftly, with Faysal Shayesteh converting the penalty to give his side an early lead.

However, Real Kashmir responded with tenacity despite the numerical disadvantage. Just two minutes later, a short corner led to Lalramsanga’s pinpoint cross, which Paulo Cezar expertly headed into the net to restore parity.

Sreenidi Deccan regained their advantage in the 15th minute through Angel Orelien, whose thunderous strike following a well-worked attacking move left the Kashmir defense helpless. Yet, Real Kashmir’s fighting spirit came to the fore again in the 22nd minute. After a Lalramsanga free-kick caused chaos in the box, Muhammad Hammad pounced on a loose ball to slam home the equalizer.

Both sides had chances to claim victory as the match progressed. Sreenidi Deccan’s Vanlalremdika hit the post, and a powerful header from Munoz was denied by Real Kashmir’s goalkeeper, who also pulled off a stunning save to keep out Orelien’s long-range effort that struck the crossbar.

Despite being a man down for nearly the entire match, Real Kashmir’s defense held firm, denying Sreenidi Deccan the chance to secure all three points.

The RKFC will play it’s next home game on January 19.
