Srinagar, Dec 22 (KNS): National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Monday said that the Vande Bharat train has emerged as a lifeline for the people of Kashmir, especially during winter months when road connectivity is disrupted and flights are frequently delayed due to weather conditions.

Speaking to reporters, as per KNS, Abdullah said that snowfall, while challenging, remains a blessing for the Valley. “Snowfall is a blessing for us and we pray that Allah blesses us with more,” he said.

Reacting to the fresh snowfall, Abdullah said snow has always been a source of sustenance and hope for the region. “Snowfall is a blessing for us. May Allah bless us with more,” he said.

Referring to the newly introduced Vande Bharat service, Abdullah said the train has provided much-needed relief to commuters. “The Vande Bharat train has become a lifeline for Kashmir. Even if roads are blocked due to snowfall or flights are delayed, the train will continue to run,” he said as per KNS.

Abdullah said that winter in Kashmir often brings severe disruption to daily life, with highways getting closed for days and air travel becoming uncertain. In such situations, Abdullah said, the train offers a dependable alternative for passengers, students, patients and traders.

The NC chief said improved rail connectivity will not only help people travel safely during adverse weather but will also strengthen economic activity and ensure smoother movement of essential goods.

He said that dependable transport links are crucial for the Valley, particularly during winter months when isolation becomes a major challenge.
